This is David's first novel. He took time off from photography in 2018 and wrote the novel in partnership with editor and friend Russel Blixt. David's wife Theresa provided reality checks along the way, making the story human.

It is the summer of 1970, but any teen summer really. At seventeen, Dave leaves home to wash dishes for room and board at a resort in the Northwoods of Minnesota. Resort life engages him with a cast of characters beyond expectation. A human cannonball, a talking dog, a summer love, and joint thievery all make for a time rich with adventure, humor, warmth, and friendship. This is a fun lighthearted read.
